New advice for applicants on online interviews
Admissions leaders from dental schools in the UK and Ireland have shared new advice through the Dental Schools Council (DSC) to help students get ready for online interviews for Dentistry and Dental Hygiene and Therapy courses.
Online interviews have become more common due to their time, cost and travel benefits for applicants and universities. Applicants have to prepare slightly differently for these, this guidance aims to help them with that.
The guidance contains clear, practical tips, for example keeping photo ID nearby in case it is requested at the start. Alongside this, the guidance is explicit that applicants must complete online interviews on their own, and not use AI tools, chatbots, or any guidance from another person during the interview. DSC warns that suspected breaches may be challenged.
DSC hopes the guidance makes the process clearer, so applicants can focus on presenting their strengths during online interviews.
